Models of pumping stations, inlet works and drop shafts

Pumping station models tend to be constructed mostly of clear plastic to allow excellent visibility of hydraulic phenomena within them. Scales typically range from 1:5 to 1:10, and models will be tested for:

  • Vorticity
  • Pre-swirl at pump impeller location
  • Sedimentation
  • Air entrainment

Inlet works and drop shafts are usually modelled for flow split, sedimentation, and elimination of dead areas. CRM likes to work proactively with clients to find the most buildable solution to any problem.
